About Emily
Born and raised in Spring Lake, Michigan, Emily Kelly’s journey into the world of performing arts began at the tender age of three when she first fell in love with dance. Fueled by that passion, she made the pivotal decision to pursue a career in the performing arts, which led her to enroll at Oklahoma City University. There, amidst the vibrant campus energy and under the guidance of dedicated instructors, Emily honed her skills and expanded her knowledge while working toward a Bachelor of Science in Dance Pedagogy. Through each class and performance, she not only prepared for a future as a performer but also laid the foundation for a fulfilling career in dance education.

Emily began her dance journey at the age of three with tap and ballet. By eight, she had joined a competitive dance team, training in a wide range of styles including tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, musical theatre, and pointe. Her passion for dance thrived at competitions and conventions, where she had the opportunity to learn from renowned choreographers and industry professionals. These formative experiences not only refined her technique but also deepened her love for the art form, solidifying her lifelong commitment to dance.

Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Dance Pedagogy from Oklahoma City University. During her academic journey, she developed a deep passion for teaching and choreographing, alongside her love for performance. Through specialized coursework in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Pedagogy, she cultivated a strong foundation in dance education and shaped her unique teaching philosophy. Her studies also included Choreography Studio and Production, Dance Studio Management, and Non-Profit Arts Management, broadening her understanding of both the creative and administrative aspects of the field. Guided by the exceptional faculty at Oklahoma City University, Emily gained a profound respect for the legacy of those who came before her, while also discovering the confidence to forge her own path in the dance community.

From 2022 to 2024, Emily served as Vice President of Philanthropy for Alpha Chi Omega, a role that ignited her passion for community service and advocacy. With a particular focus on raising awareness about domestic violence, she has collaborated with organizations such as the YWCA, Palomar, and RAINN to educate her campus and the surrounding community. Through her efforts, Emily has emerged as a leading advocate, dedicated to promoting healthy relationships and empowering individuals by highlighting the signs of unhealthy ones. Her commitment to social impact and service underscores her unwavering dedication to creating positive change and teaching others that love should never hurt.
